Residents who want to set up an informal class or activity may write up a description and post a "sign up" sheet to gauge the level of interest for that activity.
After many years of dedication, our beloved "Chef Tim" is currently looking for a new resident chef to take over the popular first Saturday of the month mouth-watering breakfast from 8:30-10:00 AM.
He has trained a crack team of helpers to set up the dining area and do "prep" work in the clubhouse kitchen.
An oatmeal and beverage bar are frequently offered alongside the main menu items.
A small fee is charged at the door.
Dinner is currently offered along with three Bingo cards for $9 as part of the monthly 6:00 PM Bingo night.
In addition, the recreation committee plans "themed meals" several times a year, or other special events such as talent shows or magic shows.
The last Friday of each month, a BYOB "Happy Hour" starts at 6:00 PM. Bring a small appetizer to share and maybe a new joke.
Master classes hosted by a recreation committee member are targeted to community needs and special requests on a rotating basis. Some include support for healthy meals, how to save money on PSE bills, and property tax reduction forms. A holiday cookie exchange last year was especially popular.
Monthly classes are available upon request. Our technology committee can support residents in using their devices. Sample topics have included using email options, avoiding fraudulent scams, and setting up ZOOM meetings.
We usually have time for individual questions at the end.
Our front reception desk area is scheduled to be staffed from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM by resident volunteers who can answer many of your questions.
This room is now set up as an office support area with Wi-Fi where residents can use a computer and printer. A fax machine will also be provided. For a small "per page" fee, a large copier is set up in our library for both committee and resident use.
